Undivided: Encounters with America

Submit a Statement

If you were a citizen or resident of the German Democratic Republic, did you or a friend or relative come into contact with Americans in that same time period?

If you are American, did you visit or live in the German Democratic Republic in the years just before and after the fall of the Wall and unification?

Up until October 3, 2010, the 20th anniversary of German unification and nearly one year after the official anniversary of the fall of the Wall, we will feature your videos, photographs and texts on East German perspectives on the United States during the Cold War – and vice versa. Your submissions can be instructional, inspirational, or testimonial. We don’t expect or really want professional films or photographs. We want you to share your personal stories. Come write on our virtual Wall.
