National Export Initiative (NEI)
SHARE:

NEI In his January 2010 State of the Union Address, President Obama announced a National Export Initiative (NEI), a comprehensive plan to stimulate economic growth and job creation through the promotion of U.S. exports.

As the President stated, “We will double our exports over the next five years, an increase that will support two million jobs in America. To help meet this goal, we’re launching a National Export Initiative that will help farmers and small businesses increase their exports, and reform export controls consistent with national security.”

The NEI is a government-wide effort (involving the Department of Commerce, the Department of State, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), Export-Import Bank, Small Business Administration and others) in the U.S. and abroad to help U.S. exporters, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), reach new markets.
