Topping Off Ceremony for the New U.S. Embassy Building in Berlin

The topping-off ceremony for the new U.S. Embassy building at Pariser Platz took place on October 10, 2006, two years after the groundbreaking. The ceremony celebrated the structural completion of the building.
In addition to Ambassador Timken, Ronald Norby, Vice President of the Hensel Phelps International construction company, Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit, Georg Boomgarden, State Secretary of the German Foreign Office, and Wolfgang Eberspächer of the HSG Technischer Service GmbH delivered remarks. After the official toast the wreath was hoisted.
