Children of the Jewish kindergarten Gan-Israel welcome U.S. Ambassador Timken and his family to Berlin

October 28, 2005.

U.S. Ambassador William R. Timken, Jr. visited the Jewish kindergarten Gan-Israel opened one year ago. The children welcomed the Ambassador, his wife and daughter to Berlin in a small celebration. Together they greeted the new Jewish year 5766. During his visit, Ambassador Timken expressed his delight at and support for the continually growing Jewish community in Berlin and all over Germany.

The Jewish kindergarten Gan-Israel was opened by the Chabad Educational and Family Center with the support of the Jewish Community in Berlin in September 2004.

Ambassador Timken's visit underlines the statement he made on September 29, 2005 about German-American relations: " A free and prosperous world will be the best security for our children and our grandchildren."
