Ambassador William R. Timken, Jr. was guest of honor at the opening on July 20 of "The Guggenheim Collection" at the Federal Art and Exhibition Hall in Bonn. In his welcome remarks he described the exhibition as a highlight in the cultural relations between the U.S. and Germany. During their three-day visit in Bonn, the Ambassador and his wife Sue also visited Bonn University, the Beethoven Haus, the Museum of Post-War German History, the German Academic Exchange Service and the German AIDS Foundation. At a tour of the Konrad Adenauer Haus in Rhoendorf hosted by members of the Adenauer family the Ambassador paid tribute to the achievements of Germany’s first chancellor.
