Participation in the 2008 Electoral Process

To further the Department of State's goal of informing overseas Americans of their opportunities to participate in the 2008 electoral process, we are forwarding a recent article on voting from the Department: "Americans Abroad Participate in Republican, Democratic Politics".

We also bring to your attention the following websites:

America.gov (Elections 2008): http://uspolitics.america.gov/uspolitics/elections/index.html

Republicans Abroad: http://www.republicansabroad.de/

Democrats Abroad: http://www.democratsabroad.org/group/germany

Here you can find additional information on how to participate in the various state primaries. There is also information on how Americans in Germany can participate in voting related events including the international primary offered this year by the Democratic Party. The dates for actual voting are this week, between Feb. 5 (Munich and Berlin) through Feb. 9 (Frankfurt). See “Hot Topics” in the upper left corner of Democrats Abroad for details on time and place.
