Selected Events 2008

 Susan Alexander

April 4, 2008. The Embassy continued its Election Speaker Series with Susan Alexander, founder and Managing Director of Luxembourg-based Minerva Research & Advisory, who spoke on the U.S. economy and its role in the 2008 presidential campaign. Beginning with a brief overview of the current economic situation and the mortgage crisis in the U.S., Ms. Alexander discussed how economic indicators also track across presidential approval ratings and voter preferences. She then discussed the current presidential campaign in the context of these issues, describing the candidates' economic policy proposals. An engaging question-and-answer session followed, in which participants discussed U.S.-European trade relations, among other issues. Photo Gallery
