Application Procedures

If Your Passport with a Visa has Expired

If your passport containing a still valid visa has expired, you may travel with two passports - your expired passport containing the valid, undamaged U.S. visa and your unexpired passport.

Please note that both passports must have the same nationality. If you acquire the citizenship of another country, you will have to apply for a new visa.

We recommend that you ask your passport agency not to damage your valid visa when cancelling your expired passport.
