Deputy Assistant Secretary David Kramer did an on-the-record roundtable with 8 German and international reporters to discuss his visit to Germany, addressing topics such as Russia's relations with its neighbors, Iran, Kosovo, Belarus, Moldova, and German-Russian relations. With regard to Iran, he pointed out that "no one wants to see Iran with nuclear weapons," and that an "Iranian nuclear program is not in Russia's interest." "The U.S. and Russia need to come to agreement on a UNSC resolution as soon as possible." Referring to German-Russian relations, he added that the U.S. has "no concern about German-Russian ties", investment in Russian energy sector is a positive thing, and that Germany will continue to be a critical interlocutor for Russia.
