With »Secret Games« the Gallery Parrotta presents the first exhibition of the 1951 born American photographer, conceptual and video artist Wendy Ewald in Germany. For more than thirty years Wendy Ewald gives cameras to children, to work together with them, documenting and bringing out their dreams, fears and experiences of their daily life in pictures and words. As the project of her life, Wendy Ewald travelled around the world, to take pictures with children from different cultural and social backgrounds. more

58th Berlin International Film Festival
Logo of the Berlin international film festivalThe world premiere of Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s film “Shine A Light” was selected to open the Berlinale 2008.  The eight member international jury includes American sound designer and three-time Oscar winner Walter Murch.  In 2004, Murch was a mentor at the Berlinale Talent Campus.   more

Robert Indiana at Museum Wiesbaden
The focus of the exhibition is on Indiana's work of the 1960s through the 1980s. Indiana, who is also known as the "American painter of signs" is best known for his "LOVE" theme, which is shown in the exhibit in various forms, one being in Hebrew. For the first time in Europe, Museum Wiesbaden is able to show Indiana's complete ensemble "Numbers", 10 sculptures showing the numbers 0-9 with a height of about two meters. The ensemble stands at the center of the show. more

World Events. Masterpieces in reportage photography by Associated Press
On the occasion of the ”50 Years of the Saarland” anniversary, the Völklinger Hütte World Cultural Heritage Site is presenting world events from the last 50 years in 72 large-scale photographs. These important historical documents were taken by the best photographers and Pulitzer prizewinners from the Associated Press (AP), the world’s oldest news agency. AP has won 48 Pulitzer prizes for photography, more than any other news agency in the world. more

Duane Hanson - Sculptures of the American Dream
Duane Hanson (1925-1996) is one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century indebted to Expressionism. His synthetic, life-size figures are lifelike in every detail and are all directly cast from human models. Hanson was influenced by Pop Art and took his subjects from American everyday life. Housewives, construction workers, waitresses, car salesmen, caretakers, middle and lower class Americans are the models for his sculptures. more
