James L. Connaughton, Chairman of the Council on Environmental Quality
October 27, 2006.

During a visit to Berlin on October 27, the chief environmental policy advisor to the President, James L. Connaughton, discussed U.S. climate change policy with representatives of the German government and other environmental experts. Speaking at an event at the Friedrich Ebert-Foundation on "Current Environmental and Energy Policy Issues in the United States and Germany," he explained the Bush Administration's National Energy Plan and Comprehensive Climate Strategy, putting it in the context of worldwide economic developments and international climate change efforts. He also addressed U.S. environmental objectives for the G-8 summit in Germany next year.
