Ambassador Timken Hosts High School Entrepreneurs

Business Plan Competition

November 14, 2006.

Ambassador Timken and his wife Sue welcomed high school students and their teachers to their residence for the kick-off event of the American German Business Club Berlin e.V.´s second annual high school business plan competition. The competition is intended to foster self-initiative and self confidence. Ambassador Timken encouraged the students to grasp the opportunities available and to take the initiative to shape their future. Club President Paul Kiefer noted that eighteen students participated in the first competition; and that last year´s first place winner has already received financing for his project. This year, over one hundred students, representative of the various backgrounds and cultures in Berlin, have expressed an interest in participating.
