September 29, 2008. From September 29 to October 1, Christiane Schaffer and Martina Schulze from the Consulate’s Public Affairs section teamed up with MeetUS participants and Fulbright teaching assistants Laki Eassey and Shannon Williams to offer a three-day series of lectures and youth exchange fairs, presenting information about the U.S. elections and exchange programs for young Germans. The fairs and lectures took place at "America@yourlibrary" partners in Schwerin and Neubrandenburg, the City and Regional Library respectively, and at a high school in Rostock. High school students and teachers had a chance to attend lectures about exchanges or the U.S. election and to visit the information booths of up to five exchange organizations, including AFS, AIFS, Experiment, Partnership International and YFU.
