Hamburg Information Resource Center (IRC) Director Christiane Schaffer-Grunwald represented Mission Germany's programs and products at the 98th Annual Library Conference in Erfurt, Thuringia.

• May 11-13, 2009 - U.S. Author Holly-Jane Rahlens Teleports 200 Students in Mecklenburg-Westpomerania Back to the Sixties
The Literaturhaus Rostock and the U.S. Consulate General Hamburg sponsored several readings by Holly-Jane Rahlens, an American writer who lives in Berlin.

The third screening of the "Hollywood Librarian" in the consular district took place at Leipzig's University of Applied Sciences.

In two articles, the March 2009 edition of the magazine for libraries (BIS-Bibliotheken in Sachsen) voiced its appreciation for Consul General Katherine Brucker's engagement with libraries throughout Saxony.
