Services

The Consular Agent:

  • Executes applications for passports, passport cards and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.
  • Provides notary services such as affidavits, acknowledgements and certified copies.
  • Protects interests of U.S. citizens in the region, conducts welfare/whereaabouts inquiries, visits prisoners, monitors local police and judicial authorities on behalf of US citizens.
  • Assists US citizens who are hospitalized, destitute, or otherwise in need of immediate information or advice.
  • Assists families of deceased US citizens, including repatriation of remains and obtaining legal documents.
  • Assists in voter registration and application for absentee ballots.
    • Acts as an extension of the supervisory post’s consular section in efforts to detect and combat citizenship fraud.
  • Assists Mission sections and VIPS visiting the area.
  • Supports other embassy activities which might include commercial activities, political contact work and public diplomacy.

Please note that:
No visa services are offered at the consular agency. Emergency passports are only issued at the Embassy in Berlin.
The agency operates on a walk-in, first-come, first-serve basis (no appointments).

Payment is accepted in Euros or by credit card.

All clients applying for passports please bring a self-addressed, self-stamped envelope (stamps valued at €3.60).

The agency is staffed by one person and temporary closures could occur at short term. When possible all closure will be posted on the website.
