Embassy of the United States Berlin

American Citizen Services

Our Address:
Clayallee 170
14195 Berlin
Federal Republic of Germany

We are Closed on:

Passports, Reports of Birth Abroad, and Notarial Services:

We are open to the public from 0830-1200 Monday through Friday BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Please note that if you are eligible to renew your passport via mail, we strongly encourage you to do so.  We are currently experiencing high volumes of in-person passport applications in Berlin, resulting in longer than usual wait times for appointments.  Passport renewals via mail are processed just as quickly as applications made in person.

Please select the appropriate “Make an Appointment” option to the right.

If your passport has been lost or stolen AND you can demonstrate an urgent need to travel, we will accept your application on a walk-in basis. You do not need to make an appointment, but you should come as early as possible between 0830 and 1030 Monday through Friday (except German and American holidays and the last Thursday of each month).  Please have your forms completed and all supporting documentation prepared.

Citizenship Claims, Citizenship Renunciations and Special Consular Services:

Please email us using the button on the right or call us at (030) 8305-1200 Monday through Thursday between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (except German and American holidays and the last Thursday of each month).
